I'm partial to Torch. His style is just witty/informative enough to both hold my interest while also teaching me something.

Orlove. He doesn't seem like just another automotive journo to me, but rather a guy who's living his dreams and writing about them. It's refreshing.

I know there are a lot of vastly differing (and many dissenting) opinions on DeMuro, but he is really my favorite. Not necessarily informative, but entertaining as hell. Torch is second, about everyone else ties for third.

To be fair to the current staff if I were to rank everyone it would be

1)Murilee

2)Orlove vs Demuro vs Torch three way deathmatch.

3) Everyone else.

I don't really dislike the other writers it's just that Orlove, Demuro, and Torch all kind of stand out where Patrick and Travis could write different articles and swap credit and I wouldn't notice.

I miss when Wes Siler & Murilee basically ran the place while Wert was basically off Dragoning back ends. Hardigree was great but as a contributor he was a gem, now as an editor and with the new kinja-style it's a land of nomad writers.

While i'm a fan of Orlove or Torchinsky, and P. George...they lack some of the "old-geezer in the woods" feeling that some of the stories held...where it was obvious the writer has a deep technical knowledge.

In some cases these young guys miss that element of experience and replace it with words like "fuck" or "unicorn piss" which really makes it feel like i'm at a Sonic Drive-in on Friday night listening to some idiot kid tell me about how many pistons his wankel has.

DeMuro and Graverobber. I like their humor and random references. Especially Dougs, I like how he always brings in some random thought, that has nothing to do with the article, and then always ties it into the article by the end.

Torch is good too, although I am not sure if it is his writing or just that when anyone says 'Jalopnik', the first thing I think of is a yellow bug with an offset black stripe.
